Congrats on the new tattoo! Below you can find out what to do for your aftercare, if you free balled it or used saniderm (second skin).
There are general tips there too, so please do read those.
To remove Saniderm, find an edge of the bandage and pull it back over itself in the direction of your natural hair growth. The shower is the ideal place to remove Saniderm. Running water will help loosen the adhesive and relax the skin, making the removal much more comfortable. Dry removal of Saniderm may cause discomfort and added trauma

Discard the used bandage and wash the tattoo with a mild fragrance-free soap.
Allow the tattoo to air dry or pat dry with a clean towel.
If desired, apply a thin layer of aftercare product to your tattoo. If you have naturally oily skin or live in a high humidity climate, feel free to skip this step. Otherwise, use a thin layer of petroleum-free moisturizer to help the tattoo retain moisture and itch less
It's an open wound for a few weeks - so stay outta that hot tub, even if the temptor is inviting you with a sexy finger calling.
No sun & no water that houses bacteria.
Keep it clean with unscented, simple soap.
Don't over moisturize, just enough to help with the itchies. Light layers.
Don't f'n pick at it. Tap to itch, but don't scratch.
If you are using something other than second skin, like plastic wrap or a 'meat-packer' - those are just temporary, to get you home clean. Remove when you are home, give your fresh tattoo a light wash with unscented, simple soap and keep it as clean as possible., for example:
Pet scratches are not good.

Dirty sheets that night are not good.
That t-shirt that's been on the floor for the week...don't put it on.
Basically, keep it clean for a few weeks, until the peeling stage is done. Abide to the General Rules as well.
